Hi Everyone....I am new to this site but am trying to learn more about this "condition".  I have had minor stomach pain off and on over the last 10 years - very minor and not often - never even felt need to take tums.  It was more a "knot" in my upper left abdomen than heartburn, always accompanied by bloating, gas, etc.  Over the past few months, my condition has worsened, and the last two weeks have been constant heartburn, which is new to me.  I have visited my regular doctor and spoke to my alternative doctor about it as well (who does accupuncture on me).  Both of them initially felt it was acid reflux.  I do not tolerate most prescribed drugs - 20mg of Prilosec OTC over two days made me dizzy, etc.  Since I am in the initial stages of this - has anybody found success in dealing with this naturally?  It appears that any changes, including meds, takes time but it does not appear that anyone fully recovers.  I am definitely missing sleeping through the night and being pain-free during the day.  The quality of my life has diminished largely over the past few weeks.  I am concerned that this is a "new normal".  I am making the changes of sleeping with my shoulders elevated, making dietary changes, etc and I guess time will tell.  I had an ultrasound done yesterday to ensure there was not another "organ" in play here.  I guess the next step would be a GI specialist but it seems that they tend to generalize this into "acid reflux" if no other specific things are found.  And a life time of meds, which is not desirable.

Thanks for listening!
