I'm not advertising. Just trying to help people who suffer.

After dealing with acid reflux for 13 years I thought I would investigate into the causes and study it. By changing our medical approcahes (not taking medication) some things can be treated. Treating your heartburn in a natural way is possible. That's all.

OK, that is fine if you feel you are trying to help.  We do discourage advertising, and I checked out the website you suggested...it doesn't meet our standards.

Please, if you would like to offer advice, or thoughts, they are fine, and we welcome them...but do not advertise on here...

I would also ask that you please take the link out of your signature, as it is advertising, again.

Please look at the rules of the forum before posting...that way you don't accidently do something that is not allowed...and take special look at the following...

No advertising or links to advertising or "Spam" is permited (including signatures)
  • Advertising or Spam is defined as posting a link for the purpose of selling products, or soliciting by someone that has ownership or other "vested interest" to the web site involved, including efforts to promote other online forums or web sites by web site owners.
  • If you are a web site owner and have a link that fits into this category that you want to share, please submit it to our resource directory and we will review your submission.
  • Posts and links about fundraising (including nonprofit) are NOT permitted.
  • Only links to personal home pages are allowed in signatures and member profiles.
  • Links to helpful web sites (commercial or otherwise) are allowed when they are posted by someone without any "vested interest" AND whose purpose is NOT to solicit, advertise, promote, fundraise, etc.
No posts or links to research studies, surveys or clinical trials without obtaining prior approval from the forum administrator before posting to the forums.
Please do stick with us if you have information to share.  Don't feel intimidated because of the links you posted.  Just please, do remove the link from your signature.

Again, if you have any issues, please do contact me, and we can discuss this further.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Hi,

I am new here. Just found this site. I noticed their was nothing posted here in Natural Cures so I thought I would put in something.

I'm 27 and started having at least monthly episodes of reflux after my Son was born in 2004. I am afraid of Doctors and Hospitols so I have never really been diagnosed. However, every great once in a while the reflux is so bad it lands me in the Hospitol for a gel like numbing liquid they make for me, when nothing else works. (ie liquid antacids, chewables or prescription pills)

I take marshmellow root(450mg), licorice root(450mg) pills when needed. I usually feel it comming. Bloating, hard painful swallows, saliva increase and chest pain. I start on my natural pills right away and keep with them till all signs are gone.

I always chew crystalized ginger (ethnic food isle) before and after spicy, or tomato based foods also when stressed or upset.

I drink hot ginger tea whenever I can bring myself to do it. yuck!

I also drink cold, super cold milk to easy the throat (esophagus) pain an to nutralize stomach acids.

If available I will suck on peppermint candy (sugar free) heard that helps but for me its always been something taken after all the others so, I can't really say either way.

I have the head of my bed up on highest bed risers they sell I think 6" or 9". It was odd at first but now I can't even tell. I use no pillow so for me it was important to keep my stomach acid from burning my esophagus.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I

I also take the liquid antacids on occassion but they aren't natural so I left them out
