I'm looking for hope. My main symptom was nausea most all of every day. I also had occasional pressure and bloating but little to no heartburn. I really felt pretty awful and was on the verge of taking myself to the ER several times. This has been going on since last summer. Finally, right before Xmas, I switched docs and got a 48 hr. Bravo pH test which confirmed that I was having a lot of reflux. I started on Nexium - 40 mg a.m. and 40 mg. p.m. After a week, I felt worse, so the doc switched me to Zegerid. I've been on it for 2 months now, still 40 mg twice a day. I'll have 3-4 days when I actually feel pretty good, like I might be getting back to normal. But, then, I'll relapse and have 2-3 bad days. I never feel as bad as I did before I started the medicine, but I'd like to feel better faster. Has anyone taken this long to improve? My next appt. isn't until April. Any suggestions on how to get through the bad days? (I've also had a gastric emptying test - normal, gall bladder ultrasound - no stones, 2 tiny polyps and HIDA scan - 32% ejection fraction. ) Can anyone relate? And can anyone give me hope that I'll ever feel good again?
