I'm only a week into this Gerd thing and I finally
found something I could get down my throat
that didn't stick. I had a small bowl of oatmeal
this morning, but right after that I got a little
nauseas, is there something I can take to control
the nausea, or should I just wait it out and see
if I start the heaves. I finally had a restful night
with no heaving after a coughing spell but thats
cause I took the advice on this board to sleep
sitting up, in my case I slept propped up on the
sofa.

Are you having 2 % or whole milk with your oatmeal? Skim milk is hell on my stomach. Also, try a sliced banana with your oatmeal. Get one that's not too green.

I have oatmeal every morning and find it to be a good breakfast for my GERD.

Good luck!

the nausea has stopped and I'm branching out in the foods
that I eat with no problems. I've slept good the last two nights
without getting up to take gaviscon.
I've added Danactive to my diet, and a few other things too.
I'm on the road to getting my system settled down and back
to normal. The doctor didn't say how long I should take the
prilosec, and I forgot to ask him. Guess I'll have to give him
a call. I did loose 8 lbs during my miserable week of Gerd.
Guess thats a good thing but not the health way to go on a
diet.

Glad you are feeling better. Yes, weight loss has been a silver lining to my GERD. :)
