Hi there, and welcome to healingwell. I am sorry you are feeling this way. This is a great place for you to come to get information and support. I would suggest you read old posts, as they hold a lot of answers!
First, I need to ask, did you go off the Aciphex by yourself, or with the help of your doctor? You should never go off any medication without doctor supervision!
I would suggest you try a liquid antacid, as they seem to do a lot to coat the throat and stomach.
I would also suggest you eat a proper diet specialized for acid reflux. I will pull up the post where you can get ideas of things NOT to eat.
I would also suggest you read the post about
minimizing gerd symptoms, and I will pull that up as well.
As for you reading negative stuff about
Aciphex, I would suggest you talk about
the good and bad of any drug with your doctor. Every drug has side effects. Not everyone will have the side effects. You have to weigh the good with the bad when it comes to taking any medication. Are you in such pain that you are willing to suffer through some possible side effects? Or, are the side effects too much for you to bear? Keeping in mind that you may not experience even one side effect, I do think instead of reading information and letting it freak you out, that you go ahead and tell your doctor the concerns you have about
the side effects you have seen, and go from there.
Please do keep us informed as to how you are doing, and please, talk to your doctor as soon as you can...as I do think you should go back on the Aciphex.
Once again, welcome to HEALINGWELL...I do hope you stick around.
Wishing you all the best!
