I've had chronic nausea for almost a year as my main symptom of GERD. As a result, I have no appetite. I also have occasional mild heartburn, burping, chronic cough, and upper abdominal pressure after eating which are less bothersome. My 48 hour pH Bravo test showed that my reflux is especially bad at night, which explains why I feel especially bad in the early morning. I have tried all the PPI's (high doses, too) and have only found maybe 20% resolution to my symptoms. This is really impacting my life. I'm considering the surgery and would love to hear any comments.

Dear Sciencelady.

I STRONGLY urge you to take Tammy's advice and read the posts - Part 1, 2 and 3 of Nissen Fundoplication Hiatal Hernia Repair. You'll find good information there.

I chose the name "happilywrapped" for a reason - because I am!

Good luck and best wishes.
