I was told on friday that my doctor may not give me anymore nexuim being that i dont have insurance and i cant afford any of the test they want to do . So i am asking all gerd suffers whats the best OTC meds i can get . My nexuim is 40 mg and i take it in the morning right when i wake up . It is stressing me out even more that i may have to deal with the pain again ... The nexuim helps alot for me .. I do have days that it dont but 75% of the time it does help .. At least it makes me feel half way normal . Would love to here from all on what meds work great that i can get OTC

The only PPI that is OTC is Prilosec OTC. There are other drugs (h2 blockers) out there that may work for you as well - Tagament and Zantac are the two I can remember right now.

You might have to find one that works through trial and error.

Good luck!
