Does anyone have sleep issues relating to GERD and poor digestion, and if so what are the most common ways that the conditon affects you when you sleep.
Med free for a bit as I needed a break from Asacol

damo123, yes. You may need to raise the head of your bed about 6" and take your meds right before you go to bed. Others may have better ideas.

Hi,

I have major problems when sleeping.

I have been diagnoised with Chronic Dyspepsia.  (Generic term for stomach problems that the docs don't really understand)

I have a really hard time at night, if I have the slightest bit of wind or reflux at night, i get pain in my arm and chest when I lay down, (when I say "lay down" I mean sitting up against 4 pillows).  I know that if I try to go to sleep with even the slightly bit of pain in either my chest or stomach as soon as I start to drift off I will end up sitting bolt up right gasping for air.  It is highly unpleasant!!!

So I can really sympathise with you.

I'm thinking about going back to my GI or GP as it's starting to get worse again.  I have had an endo and it was all clear.

Wow sorry to hear you are suffering so badly. That sounds horrific.

I have to say that I feel the doctors do not care, my friend has similar symptoms to me but there are very mild and she has been Diagnosed with Celiac, and because they can label her as having something she is getting all sorts of help with diet etc. But me who can just about eat ham sandwich and water. (that is the majority of my diet) is getting no help.

I guess that is why we need the help and support of forums like this.. Good luck, push for what u want, only u know your body....
