I read MOB1123 post about stress and GERD.  I am usually on the Prostate cancer forum but after reading his/her post I decided to respond here. I just read your post.  I have been fighting GERD most of my adult life.  It comes and goes.  I had a prosectomy in January and the GERD reappeared.  I know it is underlying stress.  I have given up all the pleasure foods that I enjoy and also beer to no avail.  I have taken Prilosec, Aciphex, Nexium and Protonix with no change.  I was diagnosed with barrats recently and have to have it monitored yearly.  The GERD appeared nightly while I waited for 3 months to see if my PSA was undectable.  It was but the nightly GERD is still there.  I have elevated my bed, bought a wedge to no avail.  I also have a hiatal hernia which makes it worse.  I am fine during the day with no heartburn.  The PSA test is a 3 month thing for a year and then every 6 months for life. Has anyone who has survived cancer deal with GERD on a daily basis due to stress?
