Hi all,

I am new here but just wondered if anyone else has just right sided pain in the throat and chest its like you could draw a line down the middle of me and my left is fine.

I started with central chest pain in Dec 07 and had various ecgs bloods etc and was then diagnosed with oesophageal spasms. After two weeks of omeprazole and domperidone the chest pain settled but now i have regular burning tickling in my right throat and chest also feel wheezy in throat but inhalers dont help. Have recently been referred back to a cardiologist who diagnosed an innocent murmer and did echo stress test all ok. Also have some breathlessness especially after food.

Fell so alone with these symptoms, my husband thinks i am a nutcase and is not interested in how i am feeling mad

Would be grateful if anyone could help
Thanks
Jenni

Jenni,

Have you ever seen a gastroenterologist for your pain.  You have ruled out any serious cardiac problems so you next stop should be gastro specialist.  IMHO.

Take care

Jenni,

You may want to follow that with a visit to the ENT. My reflux mostly manifested as breathing problems. I was surprised to learn that GERD can cause them. Two endoscopies by a GI doctor showed no indication of reflux, but a throat scope by an ENT showed classic signs of LPR, reflux up into the throat. That's because the GI scopes don't look at anything until they get into the esophagus, so throat problems aren't viewed. The throat scope specifically checks the larynx and what-not above the esophagus. An ENT could also help determine whether your symptoms are from some sort of food allergy.

I too had all kinds of cardio test and even saw a pulmonologist to check for lung issues. Take it one body system at a time and rule out (or in) the causes for how you feel.

By the way, I also had tightening in the throat, and it was almost always on the left side only. My last scope showed some definite asymmetry in the way the muscles around my larynx behave.

Tell hubby you are definitely not a nutcase. :)

I am having similar issues with most of mine being in the throat and breathing. i know i have had lpr but i am getting worse after i was doing better for a period of time. i do have a stomach doctor but since he didnt see damage he has kinda blown me off. i am going to a new ent next week as i had to cancel due to a cold from my last visit. i hope i can get some answers as i am miserable and my prevacid no longer works. maybe i just need a new med. i dont know anymore.........
