Here is my story.

In December 2005 around Christmas I started to feel different. I told my sister that after I ate, I just did not feel right. Up to this point I had lost weight on low-carb diet, did aerobics and walked. I did smoke. The feeling got worse, bloated all the time, Diarrhea. In May of 2006 I started to have heat palpitations. Went to my primary Doctor whom had me wear a monitor for 24 hours and it recorded 3000 more heartbeats. Went to a Cardio Dr. they did a heart cath and found nothing wrong but a left ventricular palpitation. Put me on Troxol, sent, me home. My palpitations improved but the stomach problems got worse. I always felt boated every time I ate. I had diarrhea, and sometimes it was a yellow color...

I went to the first GI in June 2006. They took blood, sent me for a cat scan, diagnosed IBS and sent me home. I never did see an actual Dr. at this office just a Physicians Assistant. I decided that after 34 years of smoking, and was smoking 3 packs per day, that I would quit. Maybe this would relive all my digestive problems. Having never seriously tried to quit before, I did it! Cold Turkey! I am still smoke-free today. And proud of it! Yet this did not seem to help my digestive problems. They got worse. I lived with it. Bloating, diarrhea, explosive bowel movements. I figured maybe it was IBS. Restricted foods, did not work. I let this continue until I could no longer handle it.

Went to the second GI in July 2007. He did Colonoscopy, Stool Samples, Hydrogen Breath Test, Blood tests, could not find anything. I am still feeling bad and very frustrated with the Dr. world, did not return to this GI. By Oct. 2007 I was feeling real bad. Lots of pain, bloating and yellow, oily diarrhea. Was out of work for 3 days. Went to my Primary Dr., he sent me to a surgeon to get Gall Bladder removed. Had Gall Bladder removed on 10/18/07. I improved, much better then I was but still had diarrhea that was yellow. Figured it was the “dumping” that people talk about after gall bladder surgery. Diarrhea became worse, yellow and oily and bloated feeling returned.

Someone at my office was seeing a new GI in another city so I made an appt. with him on 3/12/08. He decided to do a endoscopy and a MRI, and we did this on the same day! After the endoscopy he diagnosed and told my husband that I had a Hiatus Hernia and serve Gastritis. Sent me home with a list of things to do and not do a prescription for 40 mg Nexium, dyclosomene, GasX, Charcoal, and Colistoid. Never made a follow-up visit. I went to eating Vanilla pudding, cheese, chicken and crackers. Ate this from March until around June till I went on vacation and probably ate too much. You see I have determined that it is not what I eat so much, but how I eat.

Here it is August and I am having problems again. Bloating, feeling full, can’t eat much at a time. 1 banana fills me up. And I am having pain under my ribs and heart palpitations. Lately my throat is soar and scratchy. So I go back to the GI that I saw in March and he has ordered more tests. Today I had an upper GI, which I have never had, and Thursday I will have an EDG with manomtery.

At this point I am sick of tests. I am considering seeing an alternative practitioner, I will not give up on conventional medicine, but feeling like crap each day, and eating because you know if you don’t you feel bad, and you know that if you do you will feel bad. No win situation. I am a new Grandmother and an avid Gardener. I have problems gardening , bending over, weeding and planting. I am so out of shape. I want to feel good and be able to enjoy my Grandson. Take him hiking, teach him to garden and enjoy nature. After all I am only 49 years old. CAN YOU HELP ME? Who can help me?
