If I bend over after eating to pick up anything I get reflux up my throat and gag.
My GI wants me to have surgery. He does the Nissen method (wrapping your stomach around your esophagus like a hot dog bun). Many of the other people who post here have gone through it and can answer your questions about it.
However, I've discovered a newer and less invasive method called EsophyX procedure. They go down your throat with a special scope with something similar to a stapler, pull down a small piece of your stomach and staple it around to the bottom of your esophagus. There are not many people who have had it because it's only been approved in the USA for 3 years now. Fortunately, my new GI doctor is a leader in the field and has done the surgery 130 times and teaches others how to do it. I'm planning on doing it around Thanksgiving. It will keep me from overeating turkey this year.
Stick around and find your answers.
