As I read through the tales of woe, and especially the posts of moderators, I can't help but wonder, who really runs this healing well site? Is it run by pharma companies and would that explain why it encourages pharma use /surgery and is often down on alt medicine? Where do the moderators and volunteers come from and are all their stories real ? Could there be a few people pretending to have lots of problems to entertain us? Such is the problem with the internet -- everything is hidden behind a curtain. My alt med posts have disappeared or been chastised. Drug and surgery posts flourish. OK, the real answer, come to think of it, is that pharma companies are the main advertisers and provide the lion's share of funding for a for-profit venture, so anti-pharma rants are not so welcome. Makes sense. But creepy nonetheless. Too bad this forum isn't run by a real non-profit with no ads !

I can't answer your questions, but I can say that I tried everything..including naturopathic and homeopathic practitioners and everything failed. The esophageal sphincter has all but completely failed and surgery was my only option.

The people who have shared their information with me have been such a blessing, primarily because there is such a lack of information on the recovery period for this surgery...at least from what I found. In my mind, I could care less who owns, runs, has a controlling interest or anything, because the help and support that I have received have provided me with such solace, information and good will that I am exceptionally grateful. (frankly, I never even noticed the ads)

Unfortunately, many people do not understand the nature or world of alternative medicine; that is unfortunate because that path has helped me with several problems. People very often criticize what they don't understand; I expect this has its roots in misinformation, misunderstanding and even fear. I'm sorry that you have had the experiences you have had, I know I benefit from everyones point of view.

I wish you a good evening and good health.
