Hey everybody, its long but please read it all (lauging)
i just signed up for this forum, so i wanted to introduce myself. I have GERD and i am only 20 years old. My GERD started when i was only 18. BeesGee your right, it makes me feel better to read other peoples thoughts and views on the same situation i am in. But about my GERD...when i first was diagnosed at 18, it came outta no where at first i got really freaked out because i thought it was a problem with my heart, cuz i had heart palpatations, arms was kinda numb every now and then and i had chest pain, and abdominal pain with pain in my shoulders and back at times...it was TERRIBLE. I literally felt like i was dying. So i went to the heart doctor and they did test and determined my heart was fine and nothing wrong there, which was a huge relief so he sent me to a stomach doctor. he did an upper GI and the bravo test...they determined that i had GERD. they put me on Prevacid for the treatment, which i took my about a month, before i did some research and came acrossed a book called NATURAL CURES THEY DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW about, and by they, it means the government. It's a good book, the government tried to put the author in jail for exposing these things he wrote about in the book.
but, ...i stopped taking the prevacid, cuz it is ok to take prevacid ot an PPI for 4-8 weeks but after that, you should not take it, over a long period of time, it can do more damage plus all of the side effects. but i did some natural things to relieve my GERD, and it idd control with a eating change as well. but im young and of course then went back to eating bad foods again and now 2 years later i have it bad again.
but now after alot of research and also have already going through this before i know what im going to do. becuz i see all this barrett's stuff, and i dont wanna get that when im older.
and ive been doin what ive planned for 3 days now and its workin.
i wake up and drink 2 ounces of natural aloe vera juice. then for breakfast ive been eating either banana, or banana with a lil organic peanut butter, or grits. or scrambled egg whites... yogurt, i get all my stuff organic...walmart now had organic yogurt, and yogurt has enzymes in it for digestion. you can google good breakfast foods for reflux and whatnot. and see what fits ya best. i also drink a fruity smoothie right after breakfast. go to wal mart and ya can get one ya like...BOLTHOUSE makes them.
lunch...i been eating tuna salad, and a kashi granola bar. i chew all my food now slowly and good. ive found bread is hard to digest for me so ive elminated that.
i dont eat spicy foods no more, antything with tomato sauce, i limit cheese. and def avoid overeating and dont go to bed for atleast 3 hours after eating.
