Hi, I am new here - I have been a regular on the UC site and my flare is currently under control. I am trying desperately to stay off my Previcid as I've taken it for almost 10 yrs. if I take it, I'm fine but now that I'm off of it I just feel like I'm eating glass as food goes down my throat. My gastro told me to go off gradually, which I did and supplemented with Zantac 150. If I forget to take one before my dinner or even sometimes when I do, I am miserable.

I read an article a while back and can't find it - it said to use two things - one was a digestive enzyme and the other was to clean out the sinus and take an allergy type med - both of them were natural. Anyone else read that article? Thanks for the help. BTC

Hi Kitt: Sorry it's been so long since I posted. Re the Previcid - I've been taking it for over 8 yrs. and have heard from many sources that even the manufacturer only recommends it for nine weeks. Still searching for the info. I know it was a digestive enzyme along with some allergy help.

I hope someone remembers the post or a new person has some knowledge of what your searching for.

Homeopathic medicinal: Digestin

The digestive enzymes in Digestin help your body break down the foods that you eat more easily, and inturn, your body does not have to produce as much stomach acid to complete its part in the digestion process. Digestin contains the full spectrum of digestive enzymes to effectively break down all types of foods.

In no way am I promoting this product, it is strictly a reference I saw promoting digestive enzymes.  I would personally research any medication you choose to try. It is always a wise idea to discuss your medications changes with your physician...........I know he will just blow you off.

Remember I am not a professional.
