I think I might have gerd I went to the ER a week ago with chest pains below my breast bone, stomach pain, chills, sweats etc. I was giving a prescrition for Priolosec (OTC). That had been my second attack. I have had a total of three so far any my last one was today. I woke up at 6:45 with burning inscruciating pain bewteen my chest and below my breast bone. The pain remain servere until 2pm today. I call them attacks at this point. They havebeen debilataing and seem to last for several hours. Any similiar problems out there. Howlong would an acid reflux attack last.

I'd like to extend a warm welcome to you on your first visit to Healing Well! To help you get the most out of the GERD/Heartburn Forum please take the time to browse our threads.

A person can present with a variety of nonspecific symptoms, which may be mistaken for those of other conditions.  The most common initial complaint is an upward-moving heartburn, typically described as retrosternal or subxiphoidal burning.  This sound like what you are explaining..

May I suggest you make an appointment with a GI physician to make a definitive diagnosis.

Keep  talking to us.
