Hi all. I'm in need of some advice.

I will on occasion get heartburn - more from foods I eat than anything else. Lately, I swear like I'm breathing fire and I have the strangest feelings in my chest. I'm not having pain per se, just a funky burning feeling (right around the notch of the breastbone). I'm sure it's not my heart or blood pressure and it's not my AS flaring in my chest either. This all has been happening rather frequently lately and I'm not sure why.

I will take a couple of maalox tablets and that helps -- briefly. The problem with taking too many maalox is it then it seems to harden in my gut and then I can't go to the bathroom (sorry!).

Any suggestions on what I might take to help relieve some of this fire or should I call my doctor?

Thanks in advance.

Back to Enbrel 5/08 (I've gone full circle!), also currently taking .7ml (17.5 mgs) injectible Methotrexate weekly, 2 mgs Folic Acid daily

lol I like your description . Maalox doesn't work really so if you are having the funky going on in there it may be a good idea to visit the doctor and get you cholestrol levels checked .Personally I've been prescribed either pariet , prevacid , or nexium which more or less are forms of magnesium . Realisticly it could be a number of different things but you have to start somewhere .
