Hi everyone,  I'm new to this forum and am seeking information for my 16-year old grandaughter.  She has missed most of 3 weeks of school because of pain in her upper abdomen.  It doubles her over at times.  She has nausea and occasionally vomits 'a little bit'.  She tries to avoid eating but of course does eat but then feels worse.  She has had blood tests which are all, so far, negative.  An upper endoscopy didn't show anything but the biopsy did show inflammation of the lower esophagus.  The doc has diagnosed GER syndrome and has put her on Nexium and a liquid antiacid.  Does this sound like the experience of any of you?  Is the pain so bad that you can't work regularly or attend school regularly?  This is all new to me and I am seeking reassurance about the diagnosis as well as what might best help my g'daughter feel better.  Can anyone provide info?  Many Thanks!
