What do I do?!??!!??!? I had a full nissen lap in January all has been great but I got up this morning and started dry heaving - confirmed...I can't vomit which he told me before the surgery anyway so no surprise there. I don't know if it's a bug or food poisoning ...my stomach is rumbling like a freight train and I took a phenergan suppository but it's not helping. What do I do at this point and how long do I wait before I go to a doc or ER?

sad  dog house,

Call the surgeon and tell him what is going on, if no help, I would go to the E.R.
Prayers,

I'd call my GI; be careful if you go to the ER. An "unversed" young ER doc may very well ruin the wrap with the wrong treatment; continued heaving could hurt the wrap as well... My instructions were to call my GI and he would meet me there.

Good luck! Feel better!

DOGHOUSE!!!!

I am SO SORRY! I know what you mean....I dry heaved A LOT with this pregnancy!!! And I can't vomit either!!! It's just a terrible feeling of hopelessness!!! I was on both phenergan and zofran.....you may want to try the later.....With as many times as I have dry heaved these past 9 months I do not believe I have damaged anything....I am planning on seeing my GI Dr. once this baby is out, just to make sure everything is where is still should be!!!!

I hope you got in touch with your Dr......

Still alive! I ended up going to an immediate care facility...that is also next to an ER incase they wanted me to go there. They shot me in the butt with zofran and gave me some zofran tablets. They said if it got worse to go to the ER. After the shot I stopped heaving and didn't have another episode. I kept up with the zofran and phenergan for a couple of days and I was fine. It must have been a bug because my husband got to enjoy it later....

Thanks for all the input! Sorry it took me so long to get back here.... I felt really icky for a few days and was just doing what I could to get through work.
