I haven't been back on this site in quite a while but just thought I would help some of you who really want to do the work to heal yourselves. Just do a search in the SEARCH SITE....put in my name DANIE and you will get all the information I posted more than 2 years ago. I know what you are going thru but the idifference with me was that I was not going to live that way and I would have done anything to get better. I gave up everything (luckily I have no addictions), namely all carbs, sugar etc. You will see what I did since I made sure I posted everything in great detail.
I went on a totally alkaline diet (careful about alkaline for GERD problems though - lemons or apple cider vinegar are very alkaline in the stomach but not good while you are healing your esophagus - they are very acid going down and can cause more pain/damage).
Check on my listinigs of alkaline foods - basically you become an almost total vegetarian.
I used TOFU - QUINOA - MILLET as my PROTEIN along with the correct alkaline vegetables.
WATERMELON is the most alkaline fruit - DATES are great too and give you the sweetness you might miss from desserts.
You can get creative with Quinoa, make it a dessert with dates or eat it with alkaline vegetables and tofu for a meal.
You can't go out to eat and eat alkaline....there is no way....you have to cure yourself at home and it takes work!!!!!!
1) You will also read on my posts that you need to sleep on your LEFT SIDE....TRAIN YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!
When you sleep on your left side the acid in your stomach cannot come up into your esophagus.
Sleep with your torso elevated....not just your head....I used a WEDGE PILLOW.
2) One of the most important things - I LEARNED EVERYTHING I TRIED FROM RESEARCHING THIS SITE -
is the use of DGL LICORICE (you can get it in health food stores or order on line). The part of the licorice that causes HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT....there is no problem with that.
You dissolve one tablet in your mouth about 20 min. before you eat anything -
You don't drink anything with your meal.
You can drink a little water afterwards.....the purpose is to COAT YOUR ESOPHAGUS so the food can pass thru without doing more harm to it.
If you complain that you don't like licorice....sorry, I would rather feel better than to ***** and moan about a natural supplement that WILL HEAL YOU....I PROMISE.
I HEALED MYSELF IN JUST 2 MONTHS.....fine ever since....I can eat anything I want.
THE REASON I GOT GERD WAS TAKING ADVIL FOR INJURING MY RIB WHEN I FELL.
REMEMBER, IF YOU HAVE TO TAKE ANY PAIN KILLERS - EVEN ASPIRIN - DO NOT LIE DOWN FOR AT LEAST 1/2 HR.
Again, I know what you are going thru....I had gone for every test possible since my symptoms were not those of GERD....they were NAUSEA AND DIZZINESS.
The last test was an endoscopy which diagnosed GERD and then I knew I had to take charge myself!!!
I have since told my story to anyone that will listen and have helped people off the horrible drugs they were on like Nexium....one person was on it for 11 years!!!!! Eating more alkaline and never near bedtime and using DGL licorice....he healed himself. Three months later he was thrilled to tell me that he stopped the Nexium and was totally free of pain!!
Please help yourselves....you can do it!!!!!
