Hi all, Can anyone tell me what they eat/drink that DOESN'T irritate their reflux?

For me, I have less reflux if I eat meat proteins as the last thing.  Too much sugary stuff later in the day will cause it to really flare up.

Although, prilosec and antacids handle it pretty well.

2 yrs ago I was able to get off Prilosec. I changed my diet and gave up the following:
-coffee (I loved coffee)---this was my biggest trigger too, darn it.
-carbonated drinks
- tomato sauce
-citrus juices

I can't remember anything else right now but I'll post later if I think of anything more.

I also didn't eat at least 1 hour before dinner.

I second the carbonation. Anything fried is also out of the question. I try to stick with bland foods which is a bummer, because I love Mexican food, the . Potatoes, and rice are fine.

I eat a lot of pizza, and italian food, and really spicey chinese food..

Yet I don't feel like altering my diet, because I do eat a lot of healthy food as well, I just recently got a lump in my throat and the doctor tells me i have disease call acide reflux.

I dont beleive it, I never had this problems before it doesnt make sens.

To avoid reflux I eat:

- raw vegetables (i.e carrots, celery w/ peanut butter)
- potatoes/sweet potatoes
- most vegetables apart from onions & tomato
- wholegrain bread
- lean meats in small quantity (i.e. ham sandwich)
- non-acidic fruits such as apples, pears, bananas, prunes
- good quality yoghurt (low fat)

Follow the above and you'll be feeling good.

Things that flare up my reflux:
- raw tomato & onion
- anything containing caffeine
- carbonated beverages
- citric fruits
- beer (wine seems to be ok in small amounts)
- big servings of meat

Forgot about the liquids:

- oat milk
- water
- ku ding tea/chamomile tea

- milk in large quantity
- coffee/tea (incl. decaf coffee)
- anything carbonated (if you let if go flat first it is OK)
