Low Carb Diet for Gerd?

Has anyone had success (or failures)  with going on a low carb - high protein diet for their GERD?
 I also hear that this is good for potential Candida infections of the GI track -- am i right?
My concern is that I suffer from gerd and severe constipation - and im afraid that limiting fiber (some veggies are high carb) may make my constipation worse?

I've heard it cures many people of there GERD, but it doesnt work for me.  Meat really makes me sick and doesnt digest very well, and either do most vegitables.  I would try it though, can't hurt

I think Gabby is right, meat is hard to digest and I would talk with my nutritionist before going this route.  Just my 2 cents tonight. :)
