Hi, I am Marge and have had Gerd since my first pregnancy 30 years ago. Have never had any surgeries, but have had some nasty diagnostic procedures done. There is a ryder on my health insurance that says I have to be 2 years asymptomatic before they will cover anything with the exception of meds.
I found this board as a result of following my breast cancer buddies to this site. I also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. The fatigue has ruled my life for the last year or so. in desperation I found an herbalist while we winter in Yuma AZ. She sold me GERD tea which has a lot of marshmallow in it. The marshmallow is very mucosy and this is considered a healing modality. I drink a cup with meals and at bedtime. I am also take 2 tinctures that help balance immune and endocrine systems. I am a retired nurse and it has taken a lot for me to come to the place where I would even CONSIDER anything but meds.
I am currently taking prevacid 2X a day and up to 80mg of famotodine a day. If I eat properly this works. If I screw up at all I am in trouble. Have only been doing the tea since Tuesday.
My question is what success have others had or not had with herbals. I did already eliminate 20 of pepcid at bedtime last night and did okay. I have made the routes......taken all the meds from tagament on. Leaving ome without meds is reason for panic!
Thanks in advance.

Marge E, I have been taking licorice for about a month. Not sure if it's helping or not.I still have pain/heartburn but now I'm afraid to stop the licorice because if it is working, the pain is going to get worse.I have a question for anyone; How long does it take for aloe vera juice to start working? Should it be right after the vey first dose or does it take awhile to take effect? Carol
