I live in Michigan, Oakland county, and have been looking for a support group for GERD.  This forum helps, but I feel meeting up a couple times a month with others and discussing our day to day problems with GERD would be a great benefit to many.  I have checked local hospitals, but alas, they every type of group except GERD.  Any suggestions?

I understand exactly what you are asking for.  Online support is great but sometimes being able to sit in with others who have this disorder and talk in real time, face to face is very beneficial.

I did some searching and did not find any national society for GERD listed but you may want to try Digetive Disorders and search.

Also I would ask your local GI physician as I know ours heads up a Crohns support group so yours may know of any local groups that meet to talk about GERD.

I know this is not much help but perhaps others will have a good idea.

I used to live in Michigan too, also in Oakland county, this was my support. Hope u find what you're looking for. I think you will probably benefit a lot from here. Which GI doctor do u see? I used to go to Dr. Hasan in Waterford. He is really good and he does a procedure called Plicator.
