I was told today that my Doctor used a size 54 Bougie for my Lap Nissen. For those who dont know, a Bougie is a weighted tube that then insert down your esophogus and down into your stomach for the surgeon to use as a guide while doing the wrap. This creates a preset size for the opening to be once the wrap is completed.

I've one some research and found most are doing size 32 or 34 so i'm not sure if my girlfriend heard wrong, or if the websites i was getting that info from (lap band surgery forums) is different from what we would get for a lap nissen.

Anyways, I thought it was interesting so i wanted to know if anyone else here knew what was used on them.

Take care!
Keith

I'll ask when I go for a recheck on April 2, then let you know.
