Hi guys
its been awahile since ive been on here ( and kitt, my prayers are with you and your family)
i saw an endocrinologist - cause i cant eat anything anymore without getting food stuck in my throat which is worsened by horrible intense belching and chest burning after i eat anything - and constipation that doesnt cease !
the endo -- poked around my thyroid area and said he felt small nodules and suspects hashimotos disease - but I need the blood work up to confirm this
my question is - can thyroid problems aggravate or even create GERD issues?
I feel like im really losing this battle in my digestive system -- im eating extremely healthy and small portions for a long while now and results are not coming along - i just seem to stay sick and its really bringing me down :(
im trying to avoid ppi again - cause i just think they mask the real issues and in the end cause more havoc - but i cant keep burning either.  thx!

My wife had Hashimotos and the only time they worried about swallowing and such was when it grow alot. Hers was petty large. You could tell it was enlarged from about 25 feet away. It never causes her any GERD issues though. She has had the right half removed due to nodules and the left half has been cut in half and a section removed to make it smaller. Which didn't work because the disease causes the thyriod to grow and now it's about as large as it was 6 years ago. She has had this disease for 25 years and atleast for her it hasn't caused any GERD issues.

Take care,
