I had my followup endoscope last week.  The news was great!  The grade 1 erosive esophagitis is gone.  The erosive gastritis (appeared to be headed toward somekind of ulcer) is now non-erosive gastritis (healing).  There were no repeat polyps (3 months ago I had 2, 1 of which was precancerous).  There was no scarring from where the polyps had been removed.  No biopies were taken.  The Kapidex is really working.

Thanks Bill,

It really was great to hear the news. I was kind of scared going into it. All smiles now.

Marbug,

I'm not familiar with Kapidex. Is that a new GERD drug?

thanks

Hi Amy,

Yes, Kapidex is fairly new. It came out sometime late Feb/early March. My doctor says it is a re-worked version of prevacid and works much better than prevacid. For many years I was on prevacid and then it stopped working (I think I took it almost 6-10 years). The Kapidex is working for me (so far) along with changing the way I combine my meals (basically added more fruit and veggies, and do not eat starches and grains with proteins).

Marburg,

How many milligrams is it?  Do you take it once or twice?

Thanks
