Hello melissa

I have not had the surgery but it does seem like you should be eating from what I have read but I will leave it to one of the members to advice you who has more knowledge then I.

I am just here to let you know I support you and you will be hearing from other members.

Gentle Hugs to you,

Hi Melissa,
Everyone is different, and stomachs react in different ways. Mine is very sensitive, and if something irritates my wrap, I get diarrhea and lots of gas. Other than that, though, I don't have any problem eating, and have a great appetite.

As I said, everyone is different, and as your stomach/wrap heals, yours may say no to food. I do think most people do have a good appetite once things get feeling better.

I think you should definitely call your doctor and let him/her know what's going on with you. You need your nutrition, and he/she can help guide you towards better eating, and check to make sure everything is healing properly.

Good luck, Melissa. I hope your appetite returns quickly. It's true that hot muggy weather is enough to take anybody's appetite away!

Melissa -
I am 5 weeks post op today and I am still dealing with the non appetite thingy myself. I eat about 4 to 6 small bites and am very full. Remember your stomach was beat up pretty good and is actually smaller now. The area that makes you feel full is the part they wrap around the esophagus. My surgeon explained it to me that as you eat air gets pushed into the wrap and will make you feel full sooner. And if air is stuck in there you won't feel hungry as often either. That was how he explained my lack of appetite so far. I only eat 2 maybe 3 times a day right now. I would rather drink a glass of juice than eat.

Take care,
