I've been sick for way too long and need answers. It seems like no one can give me an answer.
It all started over a month ago, I was getting super sharp pains in my stomach just between the bottom of my rib cage. Pains so bad i was almost passing out,  so i went to the ER and the doctor scheduled me for an ultrasound of my gallbladder for the next day. So i went home, then i went to the bathroom for a poo and it was a normal poo except bright blood was dripping from my butt, so i went back up to the ER cause my mom said thats not normal for hemoirds or anything( she knows alot about medical stuff) so i went back up to the ER and saw a different doctor at that time, he didnt know why i had blood comming from there, he put his finger up my butt and said theyre was blood but he didnt know why, and if it continued for a week to go see my family doctor( it only happened that one time so i didnt bother to go see my family doctor for that), and about my stomach pains he thought it was my gallbladder too because after i ate supper it hurt super bad that night.  So i went back home and in the morning went to get that ultrasound and had to go back to the ER for my results. I saw two doctors that morning, they told me my bile in my gallbladder was echoing and that i needed to get it removed but they couldnt take out my gallbladder because i was pregnant at the time and i told them i was getting an abortion, so they refered me to a surgeon and told me to go on a strick diet and gave me morphine and some antacid pills until the surgeon called and told me to try and hurry for the abortion.  So i went home and took those pills, then about a day later i started puking my food back up, everything i ate. I thought maybe i just had a flu or something but then i puked some blood up. So i went back up to the ER and saw a different doctor, she took blood tests and everything came back fine, so she told me it was morning sickness (I never heard of pregnant women puking blood because of morning sickness) so the doc gave me morning sickness pills. I went home and took those pills also cause no one could do anyting while i was pregnant( and i only puked blood up that one time). So i stayed home for about another 2 and a half weeks almost dying. I puked everything i ate. I pretty much ate just yogurt and bananas for 2 and a half weeks. i lost 15 pounds. Then for about a week i had very loose green poo and on occasion diarrhea. During that week i got my abortion cause i had enough and thought i was gonna die.  So i got my abortion and came back home, still after my abortion i was still puking all my food up. So i went back to the ER and told them my whole story again, the doctor looked at my ultrasound of my gallbladder and said it looked normal that i didnt need my gallbladder removed. He thought i maybe had an ulcer in my stomach (because of the whole green poo and diarrhea) so told me to stop taking all my meds and started me on nexium. Then at the end of the week, i had a gastroscopy with the surgeon, i told him my whole story also, he then told me after that i have GERD.  But i don't have heartburn or the acid taste in my mouth of anything. but the nexium did help my stomach and i stopped puking so i thought okay, maybe it is GERD. So im still taking my nexium. But its been like 3 weeks now since then all the diarrhea started, and i keep going back to the ER for help but no one has answers.  Im going to see my family doctor and im gonna ask for him to do a stool sample and see whats going on. Cause i've been sick for way too long. I cant even go to work, its been over a month. Anyone have any answers? is it gerd?

First off, Welcome. If the Nexium helped it could very well be GERD. People have varying symptoms to varying degrees. As far as green poo goes, I have dealt with that for years from my gallbladder and the "official" explanation to me was that it is food that isn't fully digested because it went through you too fast. Also, I had the dripping bright red blood thing several times and had to have an internal hemorroid(sp) removed. It stopped after that.
Remember that not everyone has heartburn or and acid/sour taste that has GERD. If I remember correctly diarrhea can be a side effect of PPIs, someone please help with that. I deal with bile induced diarrhea so much I don't remember what is a side effect of what anymore.

Take care,

Hi Princess,
I second Bill's welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you've struggled so much and for so long. There is a lot to address in your post. First, Bill is right when he says that many people with GERD don't have the acid in the mouth, and severe heartburn symptoms. There is actually something called "silent GERD" which is GERD without symptoms.

If the Nexium is helping, there's a very good chance that GERD is one of your problems at least. Now I've never had severe bleeding like you and Bill described, but a very close friend of mine had internal hemorrhoids, and she told me of situations similar to what you experienced.

It's tough to get good and consistent care in the ER. You need to get yourself to a family doc, so you've got a person who know the whole you, and can give you more organized and consistent care. Bouncing from ER visit to ER visit isn't the most effective way to get medical help. You see different docs each time, and never really get a complete picture of your health issues. I would urge you to get to a family/primary care doc very soon.

Good luck, Princess! Be sure to continue to post on this forum. There are a lot of experienced members, and hopefully you'll find the answers to your questions.
Take care,
