Ok ill try to explain things the best way i can.

It started it dec 2007 felt like i had slime in my throat and needed to clear it out.Well i kept over eating pizza wich is the food that caused me heart burn and i would over eat it wich didnt help.

Well by july 2008 it became much worst and was popping everytime i swallowed.Only time it felt ok is when i ate and slept.
So i went to a throat doc and he said there was redness and put me on prilosec.

I didnt get no heart burn but after being on prilosec for a few months nothing realy got any better and i had a new thing the feeling like somthing was gonna come up and it would turn into a hard hiccup like or some times i was able to burp now i  havent burped in for ever.

Well i finaly went to another doctor he tryed medicines that did not help any and i sugested to go off the prilosec that i think caused the stuff to feel like it was comen up.

Well i had 2 months of hell stomach realy queezy no matter what i ate but i went on strict diet and ive lost 85 pounds so far plus the popping is gone. The comen up feeling has gotten better but its still there through out the day here and there no heart burn that i know of  since on my strict diet.

Well my swallowing was better but still doesnt feel rite and have to chew gum all day long still have tehe comen up feeling that turns into a hard hiccup or just me swallowing untill it goes away wich doesnt take long but is realy annoying.

So i went to anther doc she went ahead and put me on pepcid 2 a night no difference at all .I had a BARRIUM swallow came back normal.By the way what ive had to explaint o the doc MANY TIMES is my food does not get caught in my throat it is just about as normal as it gets when i swallow my food just about ive had to tell her this a few times. Its whenn im swallow with no food that the swallowing just doesnt feel rite cant say i have trouble swallowing it just isnt normal and dunno how to explain it realy.

So now im going tomorry to see teh surgeon to schedule a endoscope or w/e.Cantw ait for by the way..

Any sugestions or things i should do would be highly appreciated.

I havent had the normal heart burn i use to have when i ate pizza since july 2008 thats being on and offf heartburn medicine so i dont get whats wrong still.

Even when i ate pizza i never woke up with heart burn in my throat and mouth all though in the evening is when i usualy got the heartburn but never followed me to sleep.

I do wake up with my mouth bone dry now haven to take sips of water every night wich i can never remember doing that be4.

Hope someone understands all my ranting on and on and i am very thankfull to be where i am because ive read alot of things where people are having it alot worst then i and feel for them and understand.

Hi ResOkkw,
Welcome to the GERD Forum! You are definitely in the right place. So sorry to hear you've been suffering so long, and can't seem to get a good diagnosis from the docs you've seen. Hopefully your endoscopy will be helpful in that regard, and you'll soon be on the road to recovery.

You can be thankful that you can swallow food comfortably. There are several members here who have had to had their esophagus dialated in order to swallow properly. That's a positive!

Since you had inflammation when you had your first endoscopy, it'll be interesting for you to see if it has improved with the treatment you've received. Keep in mind that just because you can't feel heartburn symptoms when you're sleeping doesn't mean you're not getting some. Quite a few people get what's called "silent GERD", when they have reflux without the classic heartburn symptoms.

This is a very active forum, and there are lots of experienced members who post here. I'm confident that you'll get some helpful responses. This site was a godsend for me when I was trying to make the decision as to whether or not I should have the Nissen Fundoplication surgery.
Best of luck in your quest to find an answer to your problems.
Take care,
Denise
