Hi!
I'm new on this forum, thought I'd ask you guys because this seems to be the place for it.

I've always had a little bit of acid reflux.  about 2 years ago it became pretty bad, with stomach fluid in my mouth every few seconds - whether I ate or not, drank water or not, constantly all day, sometimes choking me at night - it sucked.

Various Dr.s did test, x-rays, ultrasounds all with no answers for a good 6 months.   So, I changed my diet (no more junk), corrected by posture while at work on the computer and many months later I had it fairly under control by myself.

Recently, about 2 weeks, I've been waking up feeling nauseated and with worsening regurgiation - about every 5 - 10 min.
My stomach is also tender to touch near the top and I get stabbing pains.  Also, and for the first time really I'm feeling heartburn, it lasts all day.

I didn't really have heartburn before - just embarassing mouthfulls of ... My throat hurt at the time but it was obvious why.

I haven't changed my diet recently, I have no allergies, I eat fairly well, I am active & generally healthy.   I'll head back to the Dr.s again, but they couldn't help before & kept referring me to everyone else so I don't have much hope I'll get an answer there.

Has anyone heard of something like this?  or have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Was your doctor a gastroenterologist? I'm surprised they haven't found anything. Ask for a Bravo test (it measures the acid in your throat) maybe that can help.

Thanks for responding!
I moved to this city about 8 years ago and have never gotten a family Dr. - they're in short supply here.
I had the same Dr. for about half the tests they did last time I had stomach problems, but she retired about 6 months ago and now I'm in the same boat again.

I don't think any of the Dr.s I saw were specialists, an x-ray lab did the barium swallow, a hospital did the ultra sound, other than that it was blood and physical exams.

I'm thinking I'll just have to get checked out again. I'll ask them about the Bravo test
Thanks!

I went through three years of coughing constantly with my doctors thinking it was asthma. It took a specialist to find out what was happening. Be aggressive in your treatment. As for Endoscope, bravo, and (yikes) momoetry test. They will answer all the questions for you.

Good luck.
