Hi. I just posted my probs under 'Functional Dyspepsia Anyone?' .

Am wondering, is it possible that these problems can be helped by drinking water regularly to flush out the system? I know I don't drink enough water. Most days I drink maybe just over a liter of water. I was told by a chinese traditional doc that I should take 8 liters a day coz of my weight! My regular GP said 8 liters is overdoing it! And should just drink 2 or more as required.

Has anyone tried this?

Hi LinTan3,
So glad you've joined us! I am a big water drinker, but although I don't think it solves all problems, but i believe it can help you. I find that when I'm having discomfort with my newly wrapped stomach (I had surgery in February), water relieves it. Water also relieved heartburn sensations.

I Googled your question, and found some interesting information that you might find interesting:

Just copy it and paste it into your web browser. It might give you some additional insights into your quest for an answer.

I'd just say one thing--water is really good for you, so unless you you drink a HUGE amount at one time, it can't hurt you. It's certainly worth a try. Chinese medicine has been around for a LONG time, and it has helped countless people. Traditional medicine hasn't gotten you anywhere, why not follow the advice of your Chinese doc?
Good luck! Be sure to keep us posted as to your progress.
We're here to listen, encourage, and help in any way we can!
Take care,
