So I've had this since I got pregnant, about a year. Nothing is helping. My new boss told me she had gerd for years until she stopped getting the depo shot. I guess it made her body think she was pregnant. Now I had my daughter 3 months ago and I still haven't gotten my period yet which makes me wonder if my hormone levels are too high. Has anyone experienced anything like this or have any info?

Babygirl10150-
I can't be of much help here, but am hoping some of our female members may be able to help. Have you mentioned anything to your ObGyn? He/she might have some information about this. Or do you have a GI doctor? Might even get both involved.

Take care,
Bill

My boss just told me yesterday but yes I have a GI and an OB. My OB wants me to get an ultrasound done to find out why I haven't had my period yet. But I was just curious if anyone had experienced gerd with hormones. My GI wants me to have the motility test done which I heard is not very pleasant but I'm wondering if I should have my hormone levels checked before I do that test.

Baby, our bodies are so complex, who's to say if hormones are connected to reflux in your case. For me, I can't say anything about it, but I agree with Bill and think you should follow up with your Dr.
Your OB wants to do an ultrasound, good start, have they done any blood work check your estrogen, progesterone levels? they may need to do that as well. If these all check out okay, have your Dr. refer you to a really good GI Dr.
Good luck!

She hasn't done any blood work to check the levels yet but I'm going to request it. I have a GI and he keeps pushing meds that don't work. I might need to find a different one!

Nexium, Aciphex, Kapidex, Prilosec, Prevacid, Omeprazole, Zantac, the usual tums, rolaids, maylox, mylanta. I had weird side effects with the prescription ones so the dr told me to stop taking them and to just take Prilosec and Zantac but it's not helping. I just picked up some Gaviscon and some stuff for nausea so I'm going to try those also. I feel like I forgot to list a med...
