im only 20 now i had my gall bladder out sept 27th of last year when i was 19. its hitting the one year mark and i still have constant heartburn. when i was told i had gallstones i was also told i had GERD and gastritis. my doctor told me it was heriditary and i got it from my mother. i was gagging every day all day and i lived off bread and water for a year and a half prior to surgery. i was on every stomach pill known to man, nothing worked for longer than a week. after surgery my stomach felt fine for about 4 months, i went back to my stomach doctor and he told me that there was no need to take pills but if needed to take tums. i tried that and soon went back to my normal doctor and she told me to take any form of heartburn pill whenever i felt the need to. recently my stomach has been driving me crazy with the warm sensation near the top of my stomach and its getting puffy again. i have the sudden urge to gag recently and im freaking out. i will not have my health insurance back untill jan of 2010. if there is anything anyone can suggest to me to do untill than it would be greatly appreciated, or anyone who also has the warm sensation im discribing...i just want to know that im not alone.

alynnski-
Welcome! Since you are having insurance issues you might want to try Prilosec. IT never really worked for me, but works great for my wife. I had to use Prevacid, but I believe that is pretty expesnsive. You could also do an internet search for some " natural" gerd remedies until you have insurance again. I haven't tried any of them myself.

Take care,
Bill
