Anyone tried to balance their stomach acid?

Anyone tried to add more alkaline food in their diet? ALthough i eat healthy, some healthy foods can build up the acid in your stomach like oats, eggs, meat,etc. So i decicded to add more alkaline into my diet like celery, broccoli, apple cider vinegar, beets, apples, and i notice that adding more alkaline to my diet is helping so far. Anyone tried adding more alkaline to their diet?

Generally, alkaline forming foods include: most fruits, green vegetables, peas, beans, lentils, spices, herbs and seasonings, and seeds and nuts.

Generally, acid forming foods include: meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains, and legumes.

I have read that to maintain health, the diet should consist of 60% alkaline forming foods and 40% acid forming foods.

As far as how this works to control your GERD I think you will find that the members all have unique experiences.

I test my ph with my urine.  I've been eating tons of vegies and NO meats.  Once in a while I do need my chicken.  Grains are also acidic forming.........  I stopped wheat and other grains.  I've done it all to get rid of my acid.  I use quonia and alternative grains.

Doing pretty well now, no more burning.  This life style is not for everyone but I feel nature has the answer not Nexium.

Hey phsue, i still eat my meat , and some brown rice for grains. I think once you balance out your stomach's P.H, you can slowly start adding back your grains and stuff. Today is my 2nd day adding more alkaline to my diet, and i haven't had a heartburn or any type of burning all day. yayy. Btw, i agree that those pills aren't the answer. When i first got reflux, my doc prescribed me nexium, and i almost blanked out :( . I cannot stand pills.
