OK, am I blind as a bat or is Oakley's thread missing. I am concerned that Anne posted her thread on 10/1 and it got lost in the database failure? Database is restored to Sept 30 backup... there will be some lost posts according to Administration and I have seen some already but Anne's thread is missing.............

Dear Anne, please do repost if your thread was a casualty in the database failure. We were all excited to see you had a thread of your own and we are here and want to support you.

Gentle Hugs and I am so sorry if your thread is missing. Perhaps I just am not seeing it.

Anne- I also have been missing my father lately. I just hang on to the memories as best I can and find one that makes me smile. Glad you made the EGD appointment finally yeah . Everything is going to be great in there. I need to reschedule my follow up. Was in too much pain to go to it last week and she isn't there all this week. I still should call though I guess.
I sure understand the not being able to sleep syndrome around here. I am thinking about refilling my Ambien prescription, but I am taking so many different meds right now I hate to add another.
I pray you get a good nights sleep my friend yeah .

Take care,
Bill

Thank you for all the kind words
...means a ton to me. My baby sis and I were chatting about how much we miss Mom last night on facebook and I asked her how she got through those times when you felt like your heart just could not ache any worse. She said that is the one thing she struggles with in life is the how to get through the loss feelings.
She said that God gives us these great big hearts to love with and these wonderful people to love and be loved by and then they are gone and it is almost unbearable and life goes on and you think, wait a minute , I can't.and then I said... But we do and we keep loving and doing the right thing because it is all we have and if we love enough we will go to Heaven and have eternal life and be with those we miss so much.
We both felt better after we talked.
thanks for listening....have a good night...Anne

Dear Anne,

Hello and I so know exactly how you feel.  I saw my new therapist for the first time yesterday and we did mostly intake info but when I told her how my past 2 years have been and then added on all my other losses she validated that I had a very good reason to feel down and out over the summer as I was grieving.

I lost my 2 sisters and brother in a 17 month span.............my brother, Don, died on 4/2/09 and my sister Bev died on 4/30/09.  My oldest sister died on Thanksgiving Day in 2007.  That leaves me with no siblings at all and how I miss them.  I also feel vulnerable being the only surviving sibling.  My birth Mother died when I was 18 months old and my dear wonderful Father died when I was 39 years old.  So I truly have no extended family left.

I think you already know we lost our son, Todd,  to a car crash in 1990 so I know grief well.  But like you I keep on going and I pray and do ask for help frequently.

The  sadness of losing a loved one to death can be unrelenting and overwhelming at times yet we must keep on going and I am so glad you have your sister to talk with as well as coming here and sharing with us.

Here is something just for you:

The sun came up this morning;
It wasn't very bright.
My dark mood casts a shadow;
It's hard to see the light.

We all have just one mother
And, now that her life on earth is done,
The emptiness and loss I feel
Make it hard to see the sun.

Tomorrow is a brand new day;
May the pain and sadness lighten.
I will remember all her love,
And then the sky will brighten.

Gone is not forgotten;
Her love remains behind;
She's traveled in a new direction -
Love knows no space or time.

I will always love her.
She will care for me from above.
She will send me starlight and rainbows
To remind me of her love.

Gentle Hugs and prayers to you,

Dearest
 Kitt,
The poem was so lovely and truly warmed my heart...thank you friend.
I do know the losses you have endure and your strength is awesome.
One thing for sure is that wwe have that in common with almost everyone we know...loss that is. It doesnt feel the sme though as when it directly affects you. I feel so bad for someone when they lose someone and all we can do is say I am sorry and I am here for you. That really is alot though isn't it ?? To know that when we need someone we can reach out !!
I know that when I need someone you are here and WOW, that feels good.
Thank you for all your love and you just keep on being in the moment because the moment loves you too!! I imagine as a nurse you rock !
Oh, I also wanted to ell you about my daughter Ashley. she is a Senior in college, going for five years so she can graduate with two majors...Microbiology
and Clinical lab sciences. I am totally and superbly proud of her !!
Anyway, this year she said that she wanted to go to a dermatologist and have her body checked for cancer, since she has a lot of moles. We had never had her to one before, I guess just one of those docs you dont always get your kid to unless the need arises.
 Well, so glad that she she asked to go because the doc found four suspicious moles and did biopsies on them and they then sent them to Denver to be looked at again  and low and behold she needed surgery on one of them . The one in the worst place of course...the heel of her foot. The reason it is such a bad plcae is that it doesnt flex and takes
longer to heel, something you may have already known but we had never given much though to in the past.
So afeter the very simple surgery she was on cructhes for three weeks because she couldnt risk  tearing a stictha nd she had 7...tow on the inside and 5 on the outside.
It really was more painful then we had thought it would be and if she accidentally bumped it, oh my !
We are very glad that we had it done before school started this fall so she could stay with me and I could take care of her.
all is well now but what an ordeal for something we never thought would be that big of a deal!
The Doctor said that  our feet are really a good place for bad moles to be since we qwear sandals alot. I never would have thought of my feet as a bad place for cancerous moles.
I am praying for yours to all be ok, I am sure they will !
  Thank you for your love Kitt and stay strong and know that I would be proud and happy to be considered part of your extended family here at HW!
love you !!Anne

Hello Anne,

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement and for sharing your daughter's story with me.  It helps to hear other's experience with skin cancer as it seems like it should be no big deal compared to such dreaded diseases that others have yet it does drag you down and keeping motivate is a priority of mine.

This morning I removed the bandaids from the biopsy sites and one from the site where a big ole blister broke and I looked at the open wounds and I cried.............then I redressed the wounds and decided I just have to be patient and let them heal. Having the wounds on my hands and fingers makes it tough to do my everyday chores.  shakehead

I have been seeing a Dermatologist for quite a while sporadically but when my son had a mole that was in the cancerous stage and had to go back into have even more tissue removed I decided to go to the same Dermatologist.  My first 5 skin cancers were squamous cell and a basal cell and I had the Moh's procedure done which took two days as the Doctor would not do all five on the same day.

I know with the love and support here in this forum that I will be okay and you have helped me tremendously.  You are a blessing Anne.

You are very right about grieving and loss of loved ones.  I too always wish I could do more for others who have lost a loved one, a Mother, Father, a sibling, a spouse and yes a child.  However, just being there and letting them know you care is very healing.  We do the best we can and we say a little prayer that our friends will be OK.

Bless you,

Kitt

Every one here helped me through my grief when it was at it's worse and they can help you too. Take Care. Barb

Good Morning Anne,

I am glad to see you are here and reading.  I have had anxiety and depression since 1982 so I do know how you can sometimes feel like no one cares or notices your posts.

I used to be more sensitive about this very problem and sometimes would even delete a thread I started as nobody posted to me and then my over-sensitive nature would kick in with the stinkin thinkin.  This is what I have been working on for many years and I still have times where I just feel lonely and left out but I know it is just my mind fooling with me.

Please know we care about you and if you want to continue in this thread that is good but if your more comfortable just posting in other's threads that is OK too.

I have a thread of my own and I will post to it sometimes and no one responds but I just let it ride now as I notice how many have read it and I assume they took what I posted as FYI only.  turn

Please do share more of your feelings and what is happening in your life with us as we would love to support you and you are family here so please do not think for one minute that you are not just as important as every other person here in the forum.

I wish you peace,

Kitt

Thank you
I love you all and I will just continue to post on others threads because I am more comfortable with that. Thank you for being such dear sweet friends, all of you.
Have a good aftrenoon, Anne
