if a 180 partial nissen is taken down will the lez pressure be the same as before ie will you have the same symptoms as before the nissen procedure.Anyone know thanks

If the wrap is taken down the LES will be the same as before the wrap was in place. The only thing changing the LES pressure is the wrap. No wrap no change in LES. That's how it was explained to me by my last surgeon.

so if you have a loose wrap is that where the lez will roughly be.Cheers

Well that depends on how loose the wrap is. My redo was done as a "loose wrap" My surgeon has done so many he nolonger uses a bougie to size them. He does it by feel. A good llose wrap will still tighten up and supports the LES as the stomach gets fuller. It will let foods by easier though. I still cannot vomit with this one, but can burp easier. If your wrap loosened up because of failure the LES should still be wat it was prior to surgery. The wrap doesn't actually change the LES it just adds support to it. When the stomach fills the wrap gets filled with air and tightens around the LES. This is a secondary mechanical support. The LES itself doesn't get changed at all. So with the wrap either failed or taken down, the LES should still be as it was before surgery.
