I was also just diagnosed w/gastric paresis.  i find enzymes w/each meal help, but HCL is too harsh on my stomache due to leaky gut probably caused by yrs of GERDS. My dr. suggested i try iberogast. internet shows enzymatic therapy makes so i hope i can get it.  I also find aloe juice helps to help soothe/heal lining.  My GI doctor told me he will not give Reglan to his patients due to side effects so i"m looking to alternatives.  Has anyone found out where to get iberogast?

Angel -
Your doctor is right about the side effects of Reglan (metoclopramide). I was put on this and got muscle twitches in my face and legs after taking it for 4 months 4 times a day. I knew enough to stop the drug right away but it still took a couple of months for the "tardive diskinesia" to go away. In some people it never goes away. I can never take this drug again and had to make sure it wasn't given to me during my fundoplication surgery, because it could have triggered a severe form where you have awful grimacing permanently.

In the USA there is no medication available that does the same job as metoclopramide - making the pyloric valve open so the stomach can empty.
