Hi everyone!

I have a strange question to ask.......what do you all order at Starbucks (when you have the gerd problem)??  Since it is that time of year (for Starbucks gift cards) and I really enjoy going there, what in the world can we have as far as drinks goes??? (that doesn't set off reflux!)

Let me know all of your great ideas!

Once in a blue moon I get a decaf latte. If I don't eat anything it doesn't cause a problem. Sit up for a couple of hours afterward.

Hi Joy,

Do you drink coffee drinks on a regular basis?  Are the iced drinks better to tolerate?  I had a green tea latte with only one pump of the green tea syrup and soy.  That seemed to work ok.

My coffee, when I have it, must be more milk than anything. I like my coffee iced.
I like the bottled starbucks frappiocino you can pick up at the store, because starbucks is an hour's drive away for me.

Joe, I answered your post. :)

Hi Joy,

I just noticed that you take synthroid.  Did you have any part of your thyroid removed or did something show up on a blood test?
I started taking levothyroxine about a year and a half ago after having half of my thyroid removed.  Do you think that there could be any connection between thyroid (or the meds) and gerd?  Just curious.  I have had dry eye since starting the meds. too.

Nolique,
I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism this past August after I had trouble with my legs swelling constantly and feeling "off". I still have all of my thyroid. My dry eyes are from glaucoma meds. I've heard that if you have thyroid problems you can have any one of the autoimune (sp?) diseases.

Starbucks, love it.  I can tolerate the cafe' mocha and the hot chocolate made with skim milk.  You might look at going caffeine free if caffeine is a problem for you.

Merry Christmas...........and they make good pound cake there too.

Welcome Back Kitt!

We missed you!  We have Starbucks all over the place here (Pacific Northwest)!  It's good to know that you can tolerate those yummy drinks!  My favorite was always the peppermint mocha.  Now, when I go through the drive-thru and they ask "can we interest you in a peppermint mocha?"  I just want to cry, but I order my green tea latte insteadshakehead

Merry Christmas!

Wow. Even if you told me you lived on the moon, I would have been suprised to hear it took you an hour to get to a Starbucks. :)

There's a hot vanilla drink that doesn't contain any coffee or chocolate at all, that I have gotten. I can't remember what it's called, but it's very tasty, and no caffeine to reduce LES strength. I just described it, and they knew what I meant.
Good luck finding a treat that you enjoy!

Thanks for the tip Denise!

I will ask them about that next time I go there!  It sounds really good...vanilla is always yummy!

It is a good spot for a date with your spouse or with a friend!  We enjoy it!
