I have been having chest pain for the last month. I happens on one side of my chest than moves to the other, but does not go away. I was in the hospital where I had a CT on my chest, 2EKG, and Stress test as well as a heart monitor on all night. They said everything was fine and have no idea what the cause is. The pains went away for a few weeks but now I am still having the pains. My doctor put me on a Medication for GERD which has helped with nausa but I am still having the chest pains, sometimes severe. I do have an anxiety problem, but what could the possible problem be? Again with all these tests that were run I have to assume it is not a serious problem but I am not sure why the pain remains.

Any advice will be appriciated.

Hi Bears and welcome to the group!
First read the threads at the top of the forum page. Lots of great info there!!

Looks like they did lots of nice expensive tests for heart, got you nicely irradiated. But you didn't name any stomach tests. If they think it's GERD you should go to a gastroenterologist. He'll likely Rx a barium swallow and maybe do a scope if he thinks it might be more than anxiety.

Do you see a doc for the anxiety? There is a nice forum here at healingwell you might check out.

Hi Bears! I just posted about chest pains, anxiety, and GERD in this thread:

http://www.healingwell.com/community/default.aspx?f=45&m=1670245

I also agree about getting some GI tests done if you do think it's GERD! I've actually had an EGD (scope) and esophagal manometry (tests the strength of your esophagus) but have not had a barium swallow yet. But it wouldn't surprise me if a barium swallow is the next test my doctor orders since that's a common GERD test :)
Diagnoses: GERD, small hiatal hernia, allergies (haven't been tested yet)
Medications: Nexium (GERD), Singulair (allergies), Tazorac (acne)
Note: I suspect my GERD was caused by taking antibiotics for acne.  Please be careful about taking antibiotics when not necessary!

I had the swallow first; then EGD and Bravo; next stomach emptying; lastly, manometry.

Now surgery.

Such fun. :(
