I sure wouldn't think so. If the LES is weak PPI's wouldn't stop the regurge.

Thank you Bill , is surgery the only answer to a weak LES, my doctor only knows to prescribe pantoloc for me, the last specialist I saw said that my stomach problems were caused by the fibro in my back , what I find confusing is that when I get a bad attack the only thing that helps is to take an ativan , it seems to relax the esophegus and help me release the gas that seems trapped in my upper body , I went to emerg twice  over the years , the first time  they gave me a cocktail of lidocaine and ativan , the second time maalox and ativan both times it took care of the pain, seing ativan is a muscle relaxer should it not make the LES even more lax causing more pain , yet it helps , if you can figured this out I would be grateful , no one has the answers it seems .
I am not overweight and I watch my diet but I seem to get a lot worst under stress , I seem to remember reading something about bile reflux and stress .

Have you had any testing done for reflux? They can test to see if you have bile or acid coming out of your stomach. Wonder if you are having issues with muscle spasms in your esophagus? The Ativan might help with that. They can test the esophagus muscle functions also. Do you have a GI doctor? f not you might want to go see one and see what they have to say.

Take care,
Bill

freckle,

Your original questions was "is regurgitation always a sign of cancer ?"

No it is not always a sign of cancer. I always try to remember there is no such thing and always and never. :)
