hmm some conflicting info...
pharmacist says no it's not a side effect of the med, but I find a few places where it's mentioned online. one site mentions it like it's no big deal and the other makes it sound more serious. https://ssl.adam.com/content.aspx?productId=47&pid=47&gid=601569&site=welldynerx.adam.com&login=well1815
"Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:
- More common
- Less common
- Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin
- mild nausea
- Acid or sour stomach
- bad, unusual or unpleasant (after) taste
- burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings"
"In rare cases, Prevacid may cause a sore tongue, numbness or tingling of hands or feet and severe weakness. This may be due to vitamin B12 deficiency. If these side effects occur one should seek immediate medical attention."

. If it is persistent, then you may have to stop the medication and consult your doctor for an alternative medication. "
