It is a good thing I have my follow up for the  EGD with the GI doc tomorrow.  I have picked up some new symptoms.  I have pain in my back that is really getting worse.  But sometimes it takes my breath away, and is aggrivated by motion, such as driving on un-even surfaces.  I have been trying to use a heat pad, but it does not seem to make a difference.  I was thinking kidney,as I am beginning to feel like I have a bladder infection, but the pain might be a little higher than the kidneys.  I could swear I feel a lump right near the spine where if I press it hurts.  Deep breaths also set it off or it feels like something is pulling there.   So I might be experiencing some side effects to the Zegerid.cry

This morning was rough.  Yesterday I tried a anti-inflamatory pill that was Sue friendly in the past, but I woke up vomitting yellow bile, and some undigested food from dinner the night before.  That should not happen!  Then I took my am meds, and belly blew up like a balloon, and was hard which was weird since I had no food in it yet.

I have so many questions.  I hope he will be running some more tests.  I don't feel like I am moving forward, I feel I am stuck in a rutt.  When I got that letter from him after the EGD couple weeks ago, saying Pathology Unremarkable, it was a blow to me.  Don't get me wrong I am glad no cancer was found, just disappointed that there was nothing answered.

Does this seem normal? Is there a standard follow up test after the EGD?  Barrium swallow?  Motility?  I know in one of my other posts there was a mention that I could still have a sliding hiatal hernia, which is better diagnosed with the Barrium, than the EGD.

Heavy sigh!

You maybe having esophagal spasms. It also sound like you have a stomach emptying issue. The tests you mentioned are next. It usually goes: Barium swallow, EGD, BRAVO ( or ph test), stomach emptying (least for me), and motilty test. They save the best for last! LOL!

I AM A WRECK!  cry   I am barely holding it together.  He threw his hands up and said all my problems are caused by my weight, so loose it.  Go to weight watchers or Overeaters Annymous.  And this is NO lie, he actually said these things, over and over and over.  He said if I want I could find a surgeon and have an anti-reflux surgery and while he is in there, he should do a bariatric surgery as well.  That is all he had to say.  He said it over and over.  He cared nothing about my symptoms, the bile, the slow moving colon, my concerns about motility, NOTHING.    I feel as though I have been hit by a bat.  I told him I do NOT over eat, if anything I don't eat enough, because I feel awful afterwards. My husband is diabetic, so I prepare diabetic friendly meals.  He extended his had, pat me on the back handed me my coat and sent me on my way..  Good Luck.

I've been crying all day.   I could not even enjoy an evening at the theatre.   What did I do wrong?  I'm so embarrased and ashamed, why.  I'm so upset I couldn't even say anything to my husband. I just kept it inside, until now while I sit here and type..  I'm so upset, I can't lay down, my pills feel like they are stuck,I feel them breaking down in my throat and my pain levels in my neck and lower abdomen are at 7.

Well I am rambling on...

relax take a deep breath... here we go.. change doctor's you don't want someone like that watching over your care. Report them to member services and let them deal with them.. That doc is ridiculous! Take things one step at a time, set up a plan my dear. Explain your new symptoms to your new doc and tell them what you exect to get out fo it.
Your not alone, i've had a doctor tell me when i was int he ER... "obviously your faking all this so someone cares about you"... no joke..
don't cry my dear that doctor is not worht it! if you need anything you can email me.
best wishes,
griff

Griff's right...get a new doc. In addition to the tests mentioned, with the symptoms you mention, I'd be sure to have a stomach emptying test.

@Joy, I've seen you mention having the "motility" test, suggesting it was difficult or ??? I've not experienced it with any difficulty, what was the problem?

RedSam...you have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. And remember, YOU are the one who truly knows how you feel. I wish you well. Please keep us posted on what you find out.

Sue-
Gotta agree! Fire that doctor and get a new one. Remember they work for you. There is someone who will listen. Looking into a teaching hospital might be a good idea.

my7pinecones- A lot of people don;t tolerate the tube going in the nose or even tolerate it once it is in place at all. For some it's just a minor discomfort, but I know Joy and some others have had a very difficult time with it. Myself I prefer not to ever do it again, 3 has been enough. I suppose it wouldn't be the end of the world though, LOL.

Take care,
Bill

They didn't tell me what the test involved so I basically freaked out.
I have a high gag reflex so it was very hard for me.
It took all I could do to control myself from ripping it out and run from the room in total terror. I never want to go through it again.

You are all right.  He is so FIRED.  I will not be associated with him any longer, he just wants to deal with the one and done cases.  I will be having a long talk with my primary doctor.  I will seek out someone who will help me! I like the idea of interviewing a doctor, and making sure they are aware what I would like to acheive. Joy, I think you may be right about the motility problem.  That is what bugs me about him as well, he knows I have diverticulosis, abdominal adhesions from previous surgeries and that my bowels are already comprimised. That could definitely impact my stomach.

I spoke with a dear close friend, who summed it up beautifully.  Whether or not that was his conclusion, it is an urealistic treatment plan.  Weight loss is not acheived over night, even in the best of conditions, and does not treat the immediate need.  You don't make a patient suffer while you wait for a future state they may be impossible to acheive.  He was completely out of line.

One of my other friends has another view.  He has that arrogant surgeon attitude, only worse because he probably couldn't make the surgical cut, so he got stuck in a diagnostic specialty.

I am taking deep breaths today, trying to gain back the strength to start all over again.  I did find it hard to focus, and have a migrane cooking, that is not responding to anything.

I'm sure I am going to hit the wall soon, as I understandably did not sleep well at all last night.  Thank you all for your compassionate caring advice.  I feel welcome here.

Big Big Hugs...
