Used sucrafate for a while, but never erythomycin. My son uses erythromycin for his acne though.

Hi Bill,

What was the sucralfate prescribed for and how did it work/why did you stop and then what did you do?

Thanks

Sucralfate is used mainly to treat ulcers. I've never used it before.

They had me try it when I was having so many problems with my first Nissen and they couldn;t figure out what was going on. It basically coats the stomach and such. It didn;t do much for me, but my problems were due to the Nissen being done wrong. I have heard other people getting good results from it.

Take care,
Bill

I tried sulcrafate to coat the esophagus and stomach, but it didn't work very well for me.

I have been on Sucralcarafate for over a year now. I found that it takes a while for it to fully kick in but once it does it works great for the burning from Gastritis flare ups. I have tried the pills but dont get the same effect. It was designed to coat the stomach in the case of ulcers or other sores.
