SYMPTOMS

Gerd Patient for 10 years
On PPIs for 10 yrs
Throat symptoms started 4 years back....as a result of reflux....
started with difficulty swallowing....n excessive thick mucous....
hv worsened sm bit, with throat tightness coming in....
hv hd episodes of blood streaked saliva at least 8-9 times in the past three years....



DIAGNOSTIC TESTS

2007 - Endoscopy normal
2008 - Barium Study normal
2008 - Laryngoscopy normal
2009 - Endoscopy normal
2009 - Laryngoscopy normal
2009 - 2nd Endoscopy normal (4 months after the earlier one)
2009 - CT neck normal, except for polyps....


DOCTORS OPINION

reflux the main cause....
BLOOD VESSELS VERY PROMINENT IN THE THROAT n LARYNX


PRESENT COMPLAIN

Throat symptoms....blood streaked saliva again....this time 2wice in one week....

Welcome abcxyz,
Sounds like your throat is very irritated by the acid. The PPIs don't seem to be working any more for you. Have you tried any other kinds?

Joy gave you great advice and I agree with her............perhaps it is time to look at a different medication. Looks like your Endoscopies have been normal. Have you had any other tests or procedures?
