Thanks so much for the info on smoking and GERD. I was wondering about the effect of heat?? In a sweat lodge, even with no smoke, water is poured on very hot rocks, creating a lot of steam (hence, sweat!). Does steam/sauna like conditions (with some non tobacco herbs and so on on the rocks with the water) cause problems, loosen the LES, as well? I was thinking there must be something about saunas and gerd but if there is I can't find it. Just something about how saunas help heart patients...
This is so depressing, being told that it seems I can no longer attend church functions.mad
thanks so much

I don't know Lila. I do know that saunas can loosen congestion. I have asthma troubles and saunas help me breathe easier. The herbs might bother me though. Have you thought of using a mask to filter the air?
I'm allergic to the perfumes used by the women in my church, so I have to sit in the nursery room and listen to the service over the speaker. It's not the same, but at least I'm there.
