I am new here but have read a lot of posts that sound familiar to me. about 8 weeks ago I started feeling sick to my stomach...all the time, I also had a back ache from time to time.
Eventually I went to the Dr. and she prescribed Prilosec. I don't think it helped at all. Not only did I have the chronic"I'm gonna be sick" feeling but I began to have a burning in my throat, actually got sick a few times, acid in my mouth among other lovely symptoms.
I told the Dr. the prilosec was doing nothing and she set me up for an Endoscopy which I had done today. The way I have been feeling I was quite sure the Dr would wake me and say he found something quite wrong. Instead he told me although my stomach looked a "bit" red and inflamed he found nothing else. Now one one hand I am happy that this is nothing serious but on the other I feel frustrated.
He called in a script for Nexium, I feel like I wasted time and a ton of money but I am so sick of walking around feeling like I may vomit. Prior to this I had no real problems with my stomach. This came out of nowhere.
If anyone has any "natural" solutions to this problem, I would very much be interested in hearing them. Is pepto-bismal any good? Are there things I should def. be doing? I would appreciate help from people who have had this experience.

Hello lady,

Welcome to HealingWell and the GERD/Heartburn Forum. I am Kitt.

You may want to review this thread just FYI and check out the weblink posted.

Please don't feel you have wasted your time having a scope. I know it is frustrating but perhaps the Nexium will be a better drug for you. Each person reacts differently to the medications.

Also there are other tests if you continue to have issues.

Again a warm welcome,

Kitt

Thank you...guess I had answers in front of me. I saw the part about the biopsy and was interested in that too because the Doctor did say he took some samples today.
I hope the Nexium will be helpful as you can only stand walking around nauseous for so long.
Thank you very much for your reply.

I was on nexium for many years and it helped me a lot.
If the cost is worrying you, go to their website and you can get discount coupons there.
