Hello everyone,
I am writing from Italy where the ring was implanted for the first time. I was made six months ago and the first two months all went well, then one day after, I ate it became a pain in the esophagus very strong and every time I breathed was like having a knife that pierced where there is more whether or not the ring. are now 4 months that happens to me every 15 days and this pain I have to take the Buscopan and remain sitting on the couch for hours. Pain rriva up in my throat and whenever then burp it badly hurts his back and also the left side of chest. I do not know what to do, I did all visits manometry good tac radiographs seems okay. My doctor told me that maybe take off but not sure that evil is due to Linx (obviously he was the first in the world to put research and ruin if I were to be the first to which the take off) but I feel that the evil is where there is strong when the linx and really can not live. Someone tried to have these symptoms?
sorry for my English ..... maccheronico ;-)

Ciao,

Wolfz...

Hi, do you still have the ring in? I am having similar symptoms and am considering having the ring removed....I'm having horrible painful spasms!!! It's like having a migraine in my throat, really painful to breathe, and each spasm lasts about 4 or 5 hours.....horrible.

I am considering having it removed, I don't care if I mess up the research study. :)

Ciao Wolfz,
I sorry to hear about the problems that you are having. I too have the Linx and I'm very happy with my results so far. I have had some problems but the good it has done far outweighs the bad. I have had several bouts of mid chest pain that are 8 on the scale and last about 45 minutes when they happen. I had several right after surgery and then it stopped until a couple of months ago when I had a couple more episodes. My general Dr. has ruled out any heart problems and we feel it is probably a spasm from the Linx. Luckily I had one just before my annual physical and my EKG showed normal. As I have mentioned here I do get some burn when I eat lasting for only a few minutes then goes away. I don't wake up in the middle of the night vomiting acid and chocking on it anymore. All of us pioneers in the research study should be proud of what we have done and what we could be doing for the millions of suffers like us. I hope that things change for you and you don't have the Linx taken out. Good luck and keep us posted. Shooz

Wolfz/Emmane/Shooz:

Just wanted to know if you all had "normal motility" of the esophagus or not? Is it possible that these spasms happen only in those people where the motility is not normal?
