I take mine first thing in the morning as my Rx reads "take one every day"

Follow the directions on your prescription label or the package label ...or check with your physician if you have an Rx and the label reads "take this a half hour before a meal with water."

Good luck.

Yes, I think the medication is much more effective if you give it some time to work before you eat. The way I remember to take mine is I usually exercise after I get home from work, but before I eat dinner. So I just take my PPI medication before I exercise, and then by the time I'm done exercising, I'm ready to eat dinner.

So the best way to remember to take it early is to somehow put it into your daily routine.

I also have one of those pill boxes with a compartment for each day of the month, since sometimes I would forget if I'd taken it or not. But with the pill box I'm always sure I get the right dose each day.

I don't take mine in the morning but I take it right after I get home from work, when I walk in the door. It makes it easier for me to remember. I was told to take Zantac morning and night and Prilosec 30 minutes before a meal but not close to when I take the Zantac.
