Hello :)

I am a GERD sufferer and recently ive started to get random stabbing pains over my left pectoral muscle, and it feels kinda tight sometimes too. This also happens in the center of my chest, although less. Can this also be ralated to GERD? I worry about my heart .. :(

It could be,a year before I was diagnoised with gerd I went to a cardioligist because of chest pain,I had a battery of test done and said everything was normal, then about a year later I was diagnoised with gerd,I don't have the pain very often though, just when I eat or drink things I'm not suppose too.

It could be GERD, but it could be heart or something else. I'd see a cardiologist first, then if it isn't that the GI guy.

It is always better to error on the safe side. If this is a new sx for you I would call your physician or make an appointment for a medical screening exam.

I agree you should get it checked just to be safe.

Take care,

I have the same problem all the time, it sure feels like your heart ,but is not. The cardiologist not going find anything. What you are feeling and what they test and measure for are two different things. For me it take an anacid like Rolaids or a muscle relaxcid. These muscle spasms usually happen after eating the amount time it happens depends  what kind of  physical activity I was doing.
